About AnimoChat
AnimoChat is a free, anonymous, real-time chat platform for students and young people across the Philippines. Press one button to be matched with a random person for a one-on-one conversation, or read and post anonymous letters on the community Freedom Wall. No profile, no followers, no photo of your face — just honest conversation.
What AnimoChat is
AnimoChat started in the De La Salle Lipa community — the name comes from the Lasallian “Animo” spirit — and grew into a platform used by students from campuses all over the country. It is built around two things: spontaneous anonymous conversations with new people, and a shared, moderated space where the community can speak its mind. Students who verify a Lasallian school email get a dedicated matching pool, but anyone in the Philippines aged 18 or older is welcome.
How anonymous matching works
- Tap the chat button and you join a queue with a temporary display name of your choice.
- You are matched with the person who has been waiting longest in a compatible pool, and the conversation starts instantly.
- If a chat clicks, both people can agree to save the connection and keep talking after the random session ends — nobody can save you without your consent.
- Built-in icebreakers and quick mini-games help when you do not know how to start.
The Freedom Wall
The Freedom Wall is a public board of anonymous letters — confessions, rants, shout-outs, polls, and song dedications — written by students and people across the Philippines. Anyone can post, reply, and react, and every post is reviewed by a human moderator before it appears, so the wall stays readable and safe. It is a modern take on the paper freedom walls that Filipino campuses have used for decades.
Safety, moderation, and anonymity
Anonymity is not a license to be cruel. To other users you are only the display name you type — never your real identity — but we keep a small amount of data to run the service and stop abuse. Reports in chat are pre-screened automatically and every ban decision is made by a human moderator, and you can block anyone instantly. Read more on our Safety page and our Privacy Policy.
Common questions
Is AnimoChat free?
Yes. Random chat and the Freedom Wall are free. An optional AnimoChat Pro pass supports the platform and unlocks perks like an ad-free experience, voice notes, and chat themes studio.
Do I need an account?
No sign-up and no real name are required. You choose a temporary display name and start talking. But to save streak, connections and other perks, you can sign in with your google account. Your real name is never shown to other users.
